Posted 15 Aug: Calling for members to hlep out at the following displays: Blackbutt Reserve - Storm Recovery Event on Saturday 6 September, Hunter Region Botanic Gardens - Spring Fair on Sunday 21 September and Maritime Festival on Sunday 12 October. If you would like more information on any of these events please contact the Secretary ASAP. Please keep in mind only those mebers listed on the letter of approval from NPWS are allowed to take their frogs and reptiles.

We had Dr Amisha Patel from Sugarloaf Animal Hospital talk on UV lights for frogs and reptiles. For some links regarding UV please contact the Secretary.

Our Expo date for 2009 is booked for Sunday 15 March 2009. Venue Newcastle Jockey Club. Put it in your diary so you don't forget.

If you have clean (free of substrate etc) snake or lizard skins you don't want, please bring them to our meeting. SOFAR committee use the skins for displays and to hand out to children. To prevent them getting smelly please make sure you unroll the skin and allow to dry completely before putting in a bag.

Do you have an article you think we could use in our quarterly newsletter? If so please email it to sofar@hunterlink.net.au

Do you have frog or reptile photos we could use on our Gallery page? If you take a look you will notice most of the photos need replacing. If you have one SOFAR could use please email it to sofar@hunterlink.net.au (please ensure the photo isn't too big) or you could save it onto a disc (jpg, gif, pdf, bmp, doc format preferred) and mail it to PO Box 30, Jesmond NSW 2299, please include information on the frog or reptile and who took the photo.

If you have a care sheet you recommend or one you have put together yourself, on a particular breed of Frog or Reptile please bring it to a meeting and pass onto the Secretary or email her at sofar@hunterlink.net.au. Please include on the care sheet details of where it comes from e.g. website, book etc.

If you notice a website has the incorrect details for SOFAR please email or phone the Secretary with website details and when found.
