Regular Sessions

A traditional Irish music session is an informal gathering of musicians and singers. It provides an opportunity for players to play tunes together that they know in common and also to share and try out new tunes. Anyone interested in playing or listening to traditional music is welcome. Sessions are free.

Since 1991, Shayne and Roz have been hosting a monthly traditional Irish music session in Newcastle. The session is held
at the Bennett Hotel, Hamilton on the 3rd Sunday of the month, from 4 pm.

Shayne, Roz and Donnie, together with other local musicians, play for dancing socials for Newcastle Irish Set Dancers.
We began at Finnegans Irish Pub in October 2005. Musicians and dancers are welcome. Unfortunately, Finnegans ceased operating as an Irish pub late in 2007. To find out when and where the next dancing session will be held, please contact Roz.
