These working lines haven't let us down. Shaali's training for Novice obedience took just four months. She entered the trial ring at 18 months of age and didn't let me down. In her first trial she scored 188 points and second place. The next day she took first place on 198 points, 10 points clear of the second placegetter. Shaali completed her title with 195 points and first place. She went on to complete six more Novice trials scoring between 188 to 194 points and placing in all of them.

At the NSW State Obedience Titles in October 2000 she placed at two of the three trials and received a medallion for passing on all three days and as well received the Bronze Medallion for 3rd place overall.

At the final presentation we had an anxious wait before Shaali was named the "Arthur Smith Novice Dog of the Year". She became the first Australian Shepherd to win this prestigious award with a score of 587 from a possible 600. It was a dream come true.

Shaali then went back to Sharyn to have her first litter. A beautiful litter of seven puppies, all blue merles and black tri's, sired by Aust. Ch Wlkabout Escapade Pranca.

Her Open title came in three trials scoring 193 points - 1st Place, 195 and 192 points 4th place. Her average score is in the low 190's.

UD training is progressing well. Shaali has an excellent nose and I hope to be having fun with her in Utility ring soon.

Agility training is under way and competition is not too far away, I'll really need my skates to keep up with Shaali.

Her conformation title took longer to achieve mainly due to the stiff competition from some top quality bitches including her half sister "Aust Grand Ch/AM Ch Sugargum Top Shelf" maternal duties, obedience and volunteer work. Along the way Shaali collected Best of Breeds, Runner Up Best of Breeds and Classes in Group.

Certified as a "Pets as Therapy" dog with the Delta Society, Shaali's sweet nature made her a favourite with nursing home patients, unfotunately whilst unable to continue our work through Delta we do occassionally still visit some of our friends.
