HOSPITAL VISITS
The mission of the church is never more appropriate than amongst those who are in hospital. Many who are in hospital are dealing with life-changing issues and can be feeling very fragile and vulnerable. They may be involved in issues which go to the meaning of life. Pastoral visits in hospital may not only achieve a sense of relationship and companionship and self-worth for the patient; but they may also give permission for that person to deal with much more profound issues. The Gospels often record the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ with and amongst those who suffered. And there he revealed God's power for wholeness of being, often in the face of death and pain.
