Uniform and Kit
There is no need to worry, we do not expect new recruits to turn up fully dressed and kitted out on their first drill. It can take some months to put together a full kit. Where possible we will provide from our Quartermasters stores uniform and equipment on loan until you can obtain your own (subject to availability). Alternatively second hand equipment may become available which will dramatically cut the costs.
Experience has shown that the preferred order in which a recruit should procure their kit.
Items required for Parade are the first priority: -

Recruits who do not currently hold a current firearms licence should do so before ordering their Brown Bess. For those not familiar with the process of licensing should consult the Quartermaster for advice. Those you are joining as a junior member or bandsman do not require a firearms licence.
Prospective or new recruits should not hesitate to attend drill sessions with little or no kit. You will all be welcomed and with a little borrowed kit you can soon be participating in drills, events, and encampments.
