I first learnt about Neil Davis when I was about 12 years of age when I was given a set of tapes called, funnily enough "The NEIL DAVIS Tapes". I was totally awe struck with this incredible Australian's story's of the war in Vietnam & South East Asia and his philosophy on life in general. This page is a memorial to a unique man who I admire greatly.

Brief History

Born 1934 in a Small farming community at Nala, Tasmania Australia.

In 1964 started work for Visnews covering South East Asia.

Covered action for over 20 Years in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and many other locations

Died 1985 while covering an attempted Coup in Bangkok.

Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia

Neil Davis was the only western cameraman to film the famous NVA tank crashing through the gates of Independence Palace in Saigon.

Davis mostly travelled with the ARVN (South Vietnamese Troops). He would slog it out in the Jungle's and Paddy fields with the troops. Unlike most journalists who worked with the US troops. Davis also Filmed with the VC at one point.
