New South Wales v Queensland 1971 - 1973
New South Wales 29 beat Queensland 5
    at Brisbane.

New South Wales 27 beat Queensland 6
    at Brisbane.

Queensland 11 beat New South Wales 10
    at Sydney.

Peter Gillanders writes: "As I recall, the third game in 1972, which Queensland won 11-10, was actually played against a "NSW Colts" team--or so they told us after they lost :^) It was not played mid season, as the other interstate games were, but after the grand finals as a selection trial match. I am not sure what for, as the Kangaroo tour was in 1973. As an Easts fan (Brisbane) I recall a song that was popular at the time, "Bopping the Blues", which had as the last line(s) of the last verse : 'I turned around and saw the boys in blue and guess what, they were bopping the blues' (or something similar). Very appropriate for the Valleys boys who Easts beat 16-15 in the grand final and then joined with the Easts boys (and others, but the Qld team was mainly from the two grand finalists) to beat NSW."
