1932 was the Australian rugby league Silver Jubilee, the 25th year of rugby league football in Australia.

Rule change: the hooker could strike for the ball with either foot.

Rule change: the advantage rule would apply to accidental offside. (Previously the referee had to award a scrum.)

Rule change: when a penalty was awarded, the team captain could choose either a scrum or a penalty kick.

Balmain moved home ground from Birchgrove Oval to Drummoyne Oval.

A junior rugby league competition was established in the Manly district.

South Sydney won the last of their seven premierships in eight years.
