Sydney
Newcastle
- Hunter District
There had been a growing tendancy for the marker to lash out in the play-the-ball, and referees were urged to enforce the rule that the marker had to keep both feet on the ground. (Striking for the ball was made legal--when?)
South Sydney embarked on a three match tour of New Zealand, becoming the first district club to tour overseas.
At the end of 1929 Glebe were eliminated from the competition because of a lack of a home ground, poor results, and (primarily) because the area they represented was no longer big enough to support a club.
