Sydney

Premiership, reserve grade and third grade competitions were run. A separate table was kept over the second round of the premiership and reserve grade competitions, with the top four teams in each playing off for the City Cup and Sports Ground Cup respectively. The top 8 third grade sides competed in a post-season knockout competition.

Eleven districts ran junior competitions and each competed for the President's Cup, which was run as a knockout competition.

Three grades of competition were run plus two junior grades. The Kerr Cup was run as an end of season competition.

First Grade Premiership (Cornish Shield)

Format: played over three rounds with a final. A four way tie for first place mean't that semifinals were necessary. The third round also counted as the first round of the Kerr Cup.

Hunter District

Initially three grades of competition were attempted, but after two weeks it became apparent that the A Grade was going to collapse and all the B Grade teams were promoted to A Grade. Two rounds were played in the A Grade comp followed by a final. Under 16s and cadets were also played.

At the end of the season the League attempted to hold a knockout competition open to all Northern clubs. It was not a success.

A Grade Premiership (Hepworth Shield)
